God help us all
The words read…. From “The Choice” by Max Lucado

Quote…
IT'S QUIET. It's early. My coffee is hot. The sky is still black. The world is still asleep. The day is coming.

In a few moments the day will arrive. It will roar down the track with the rising of the sun. The stillness of the dawn will be exchanged for the noise of the day. The calm of solitude will be replaced by the pounding pace of the human race. The refuge of the early morning will be invaded by decisions to be made and deadlines to be met.

For the next twelve hours I will be exposed to the day's demands. It is now that I must make a choice. Because of Calvary, I'm free to choose. And so I choose.

I choose love . . .

No occasion justifies hatred; no injustice warrants bitterness. I choose love. Today I will love God and what God loves.”
End quote

My heart is heavy today for three people. One is trying and trying hard to keep it together. One is trying hard to break up the situation. The third one has stopped trying and is messing things up.

The first one is about love. The second one is about sex and selfishness. The third one is about selfishness – but claims that sex is not what it is about.

For 35 years I have listened to this kind of story. The basis of it all is that inner drive to have it “my way”. How sad that is.

In one situation my wife and I are meeting a couple to try to work out the details for their marriage. There is a problem.

The mother of the young many getting married was 39 when he was 4 years old. She decided to leave her husband and find her true self. She started doing that with one man and then another and another and another… then she told her husband that she was leaving. He had no idea that this announcement was coming.

This lady slept with a lot of losers while “finding herself”… and guess what she is still lost and “herself” never did get found. What a sad story this one is.

Now the wedding is coming and the young man is kind of worried that his father might kill the present dude that is sleeping with his former wife. The present dude is an idiot and needs to be treated like one… a drunk and an all round idiot… with no regard for anyone but himself.

Yes I will be presiding over this wedding. But how do I advise them on where they sit at the wedding? It is a real problem. I think I will keep the cell phone in my pocket just in case a 911 call is needed during the wedding and reception.

The couple that I am trying to help now… or at least the guy that I am trying to help has done everything he can. I believe him. He still hangs in there fighting to show his love.

There are times that I do not know who to tell what to. I would like to scream the words that are not so nice. I would like to shake some people’s world by having God send an Earthquake their way. But I don’t know if I should ask for that or not… maybe he will do that on his own… and most likely will.

I move from happiness one day to sharing the load with three men that are all facing almost identical situations.

Today three guys need prayer… and the women... well… they do too… but I am not sure what God can do with selfishness. Hard labour is what he offered Eve for the rest of her life… maybe that is coming too….

God help us all!?!
