Today’s Blog Post

Facing the Darkness Together
The Facebook message popped into view when I clicked on the note in my email… “katies journey”. I swallowed hard as I read the following words…
“we have had a bit of setback.. they have found some lesions on katie's lungs but we are going to fight this with everything we have. we appreciate all the love prayers and support thru this all.. the dr. will be in today to discuss chemo and the schedule we are facing. it will be a lot of back and forth to Toronto.
many have asked what you can do.. katie loves archie comics, has a ds, timmies or subway cards are good.. she is not fond of hospital food.. once again we are trusting a Great God to get us thru all of this. thanks again..
we are really appreciated of all your encouraging words, prayers and all that is being done.. we are in the best hospital for this rare form of cancer.. we have Dr. Wunder who is the world leader in this
we thank you all so much! probably wont have a computer for now a couple days the other patient who we have been borrowing hers is leaving .

we love you all

End quote…

I had received the information about Katie from her mom, a fellow pastor, and a close friend of ours. Her moms explanation of what Katie and the family is facing is as follows…quote…
“Katie was officially diagnosed with osteosarcoma (Terry Fox cancer) on June 7. she is at Mt. Sinai and is under the care of Dr. Wunder he is one of the worlds best in the field.”

As you can see from the Photo – Katie is a normal Teenager… in the middle of the family group.

Today, I can only think of Katie and the family as they face some dark clouds on this sunny day.

Faith is walking up to the darkness and then taking one more step.

Hang in there Katie and family – a whole bunch of us are praying for you in these days.
